Membership Classifications
Membership in the International Trade Club, Port of Mobile, is by invitation of the Board of Directors. The Club's membership shall be limited to the number of members, as determined from time to time by the Board of Directors, to assure optimum enjoyment of the Club by its members. All memberships provide equal privileges to spouses, except the right to vote and hold office. The following membership classifications have been established:
Regular Members
Regular Members are resident, or employed in, Mobile and Baldwin Counties, Alabama. They shall have all benefits of membership, including the right to vote and hold office. The Resident Member initiation fee is $100.00, and monthly dues are $50.00.
Sustaining Members
Each Sustaining Member shall pay an initiation fee of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) and may be persons, firms or corporations. Each Sustaining Member may have up to five (5) individual memberships who may be people employed by, or associated with the Sustaining Member. Persons nominated for such individual memberships shall not be required to pay an initiation fee, but shall pay the dues prescribed for such individual members, which shall be set at a constant level of Ten Dollars ($10.00) less than Regular Member dues. Individual memberships under a Sustaining Membership shall have all benefits of membership including the right to vote and hold office.
Non-Resident Members
Non-resident Membership shall be available to individuals who neither work in, nor reside in, Mobile or Baldwin Counties, Alabama. Non-resident Members shall enjoy all the rights and privileges of membership except for the rights to vote and to hold office. The initiation fee shall be $100.00, and monthly dues shall be $20.00.
Junior Members
Junior Memberships shall be available to individuals who are at least twenty-one (21) years of age, and who are not over thirty-five (35) years of age. Junior Members shall have all benefits of membership including the right to vote and hold office. The initiation fee for Junior Members shall be $100.00, and the monthly dues shall be $25.00. Upon reaching his or her thirty-sixth (36th) birthday, a Junior Member must convert their membership to another qualified category, but they may do so without paying any further initiation fee.
Senior Members
Senior Memberships are available for individuals who are retired and who are not gainfully employed. Regular Members who become eligible for Senior Membership may convert to that category without any further initiation fee, and shall continue to enjoy all benefits of membership including the right to vote and hold office. New Senior Members shall pay an initiation fee of $100.00, and shall not have the rights to vote and hold office. The monthly dues for all Senior Members shall be $25.00.
Alabama State Docks Employee Members
Qualified employees of the Alabama State Docks are eligible for membership without payment of an initiation fee, and shall pay dues of $20.00 per month. ASD employee members shall not have the right to vote or hold office; however, these restrictions do not apply to the individual memberships associated with the ASD Sustaining Membership.
Lifetime Members
A limited number of of Lifetime Membershps are available for a $1200 one-time fee. Not further dues will be accessed. If you are interested in converting your current membership to a lifetime membership, please call the office at 251.433.1851.
